450 set for Caribbean Music Awards performance

Dancehall artiste 450 is gearing up to make his debut performance at the highly anticipated Caribbean Music Awards (CMA). The fourth annual ceremony and showcase will take place on Saturday, September 19 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. For 450, the opportunity to perform on the regional stage represents another significant moment in his career. “It feels like a big moment for me. The CMA is a major platform for Caribbean music, so it feels like another chapter of the story that my team and I are grateful for,” 450, who is also nominated for Album of the Year, told the Jamaica Observer. V’ghn, Freetown Collective, Jah Mason, 1T1, and Theomaa are among the artistes slated to perform. The line-up represents a cross section of Caribbean music, spanning soca, reggae, dancehall, bouyon, and contemporary Caribbean sounds. After three years of staging the awards in New York City, organisers are bringing CMA to the Caribbean for the first time since its inception. The move will also see the celebration expand beyond a single awards night into an immersive weekend of activities. The weekend is expected to feature networking opportunities, industry discussions, cultural showcases, and opportunities for fans to interact more closely with artistes and other players in the Caribbean music industry. 450 said preparations are well under way for his performance, with his team focused on ensuring his CMA debut makes an impact. “Preparation has been good. We’ve been putting in the work and making sure everything is right,” he shared. While not revealing too much about what he has planned, the entertainer promised a high-energy performance featuring some of the songs that have connected with his fan base. “Energy, good vibes, and some of the songs they know and love. I’m representing Jamaica and dancehall music,” 450 said. The appearance comes during what the artiste describes as a strong year of career growth, particularly as he continues to introduce his music to audiences outside Jamaica. “It’s been a really good year. I’ve been able to reach new audiences, perform on bigger international stages, and continue growing the music. There’s still more to accomplish, so mi nah slow down,” he said. With the final quarter of 2026 under way, 450 has no plans to ease the pace. Beyond his upcoming CMA performance, the dancehall artiste is working on new material and further expanding his international presence. “I’m working on new music, more visuals, and some exciting international projects. More to come soon,” he added.
