₹4.40 crore sanctioned for Ambedkar AP Study Circle in Ongole

The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned ₹4.40 crore for establishing the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar AP Study Circle in the existing incomplete building of Yuva Bhavan in Ongole.State Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said the Study Circle would help students and unemployed youth from the undivided Prakasam district prepare for competitive examinations and secure high-level jobs.“AP Study Circles are currently located in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati. The availability of this prestigious study circle in Ongole will open up new opportunities for the district’s youth,” he said.The stalled construction of Yuva Bhavan would be completed with modern facilities, including a reading room and digital library, the Minister said. He added that the construction work was progressing rapidly and the building would soon be made available for use.The Study Circle will provide free coaching for the UPSC Civil Services examination, APPSC Group 1 and 2, banking, Railway Recruitment Board examinations, police recruitment, DSC and other competitive examinations.Experienced instructors from cities such as Hyderabad and Vijayawada would be engaged. Eligible students from economically disadvantaged sections and distant areas would also be provided free hostel accommodation and nutritious food.Mr. Swamy said the centre would provide relief to rural and economically disadvantaged students who otherwise had to pay high fees to private coaching institutes.Kaushalam recruitment driveA special recruitment drive under the Kaushalam programme, an initiative of the Andhra Pradesh government’s ITE&C and SGSW departments aimed at improving employment opportunities for youth, was launched by Mr. Swamy and Collector P. Raja Babu at the PGRS Hall in Ongole.Mr. Swamy said more than 10,000 youth had so far secured jobs in leading companies through Kaushalam placement programmes and had become a source of support for their families.“The government is ready to identify unemployed youth, provide them with skill training and connect them with suitable jobs.
