Chandrababu Naidu handing over a pattadar passbook bearing the State emblem to a woman under the ‘Mee Bhumi–Mee Hakku’ programme at Narsingolu village in Prakasam district on Friday. | Photo Credit: KOMMURI SRINIVAS The Andhra Pradesh government has so far distributed 40.58 lakh pattadar passbooks to farmers in the State and it will distribute the remaining 51 lakh passbooks by setting monthly targets, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said.During his visit to Narsingula village in Jarugumalli mandal in Kondapi constituency of Prakasam district on Friday, the Chief Minister distributed pattadar passbooks to 1,301 farmers across eight villages of four mandals in the district, under ‘Mee Bhumi-Mee Hakku’ (Your Land-Your Right) programme. He said the government had been issuing secure passbooks with the State emblem and enhanced security features following Resurvey 2.0.The Chief Minister said, “In October alone, over 4 lakh official passbooks (bearing the State emblem) have been distributed across 790 villages. I am personally participating in the distribution programmes to ensure that no one in the State suffers any loss. The goal is to distribute secure passbooks with complete transparency, reaching every individual.”Criticising the previous YSRCP government, Mr. Naidu alleged that land security had deteriorated during its 2019-24 tenure, with encroachments, irregularities and disputes undermining the revenue system. He said photographs of political leaders had been placed on survey stones and public property documents.He claimed that Land Titling Act had been created uncertainty over land ownership and the lands belonging to political opponents had been included in the 22A prohibited properties list. After the NDA government came to power, it repealed the Act, he said, adding the coalition government had removed 16.48 lakh acres from the 22A list.He said disputes involving around 41,000 acres in areas such as Kangundi, Amalapuram and Shettipalli had been resolved.Global horticulture hubThe Chief Minister stated that an action plan had been initiated to transform the combined Prakasam district and Rayalaseema districts into world-class horticulture hubs. He mentioned that ₹11,000 crore was being spent on infrastructure development in rural areas through ‘Palle Panduga’ programme.Mr. Naidu also noted that housing rights had been granted to 60,000 people in areas including Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Mangalagiri, with the market value of these properties estimated at ₹52,000 crore. He announced that the foundation stone had been laid for the construction of three lakh houses across the State and that the construction of six lakh houses would be undertaken.He stated that as part of the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0’ and ‘Amarajeevi Jaladhara’ initiative, a programme costing ₹31,000 crore had been launched to provide piped drinking water to every household. He mentioned that investments were being brought into the State to create employment opportunities for the youth.Paleru reservoirThe Chief Minister announced that construction of Pothula Chenchayya–Paleru Reservoir had been taken up to meet irrigation and drinking water requirements in Prakasam district. The project would be completed within two years at a cost of ₹166.40 crore. It would provide irrigation water to 9,500 acres and drinking water to 35,000 people in 15 villages, he said.He also laid the foundation for Vemurupadu road in Ponnaluru mandal and a bridge across the Paleru river. These works would be completed at a cost of ₹28 crore. He said water had been brought to the erstwhile Prakasam district through the Veligonda project and assured that the second phase would also be completed to provide irrigation and drinking water to all areas.
