4-year-old dies as car door suddenly opens, unbalancing biker in Madhya Pradesh

A four-year-old boy died in Bhind after a car door allegedly opened into a moving motorbike. (Photo: ITG)A four-year-old boy was killed in a tragic road accident in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district after a car driver allegedly opened the vehicle's door suddenly, causing a motorcycle to lose balance and throwing the child onto the highway, where he was run over by a dumper truck.According to police, Devansh Yadav, was travelling to Bhind on a motorcycle with his grandfather, Sunil Yadav, on Saturday. As they approached the Kunwari river stretch of the highway, the driver of a parked or stationary car allegedly opened the door abruptly.The motorcycle struck the open door and lost balance, causing Devansh to fall onto the road. Moments later, a dumper truck passing behind the bike ran over the child, killing him on the spot. His grandfather sustained injuries in the accident.The incident drew a crowd, and bystanders caught the dumper driver before police arrived at the scene. During the investigation, police found that the car carried a nameplate identifying it as belonging to the "former BJP Mahila Morcha district president". However, station house officer Shiv Pratap Singh said it is not yet known whether the vehicle actually belongs to a BJP leader.Police have seized both the dumper and the car involved in the incident and arrested the drivers of both vehicles. The SHO confirmed that the motorcycle lost balance after the car door was opened, leading to the fatal accident. A detailed investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and fix responsibility.TODDLER DIES AFTER FALLING INTO OPEN SEPTIC TANKIn a separate incident, a three-year-old boy died after falling into an open septic tank in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa district, officials said on Monday, with the state government suspending a civic official for alleged negligence following the incident.Tanush Usrathe, a resident of Nagpur in neighbouring Maharashtra, had arrived in the temple town of Omkareshwar with his family in the early hours of July 24 to offer prayers at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga shrine.According to officials, the family had just alighted from a bus at the Brahmpuri parking area when the toddler ran ahead in the dark and fell into an uncovered septic tank nearby.The child's father climbed into the tank and rescued him, but Tanush's lungs had filled with contaminated water. He later died during treatment at a hospital.Following an inquiry, the Urban Administration and Development Department suspended Suresh Chandra Patidar, a deputy engineer with the Omkareshwar Nagar Parishad, in connection with the incident.Officials said the uncovered septic tank belonged to a dharamshala.
