Four men have been arrested after a video purportedly showing them assaulting protesters in Delhi’s Connaught Place went viral on social media. They have been identified as Raman Saini, Vivekanand alias Vivek, Kapil Kumar and Ravinder Singh alias Govind Hindu. Two of the accused are from Delhi, while the other two are from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.The incident took place on October 10 during the Cockroach Janta Party's protest against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Gyanesh Kumar. According to police, the video surfaced on social media on Saturday, following which they took cognisance of the matter and arrested four men. Police said no complaint had been received from anyone in connection with the incident and that legal action was being taken.The precise circumstances leading to the altercation and the individual roles of those involved were not immediately clear.The incident drew a sharp response from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which alleged that BJP-RSS workers assaulted a young woman in the presence of Delhi Police personnel during a peaceful protest.
