Years later, the movie has aged remarkably well, and I believe it's Scorsese's funniest movie ever. The Wolf of Wall Street is inspired by the life of Jordan Belfort, the ambitious stockbroker who rose to power at his firm Stratton Oakmont. There's a line in Scorsese's movie that perfectly encapsulates Belfort's career. Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays Belfort, turns to the camera and asks, "Was all of this legal? Absolutely not." The Real Wolf of Wall Street covers the illegal activities of Belfort, which included a pump-and-dump scheme to get rich and defraud investors of millions. The three-part documentary showcases Belfort's excessive lifestyle of money, women, and drugs. Interviews with Belfort's former friends, colleagues, and wife, Nadine, paint an interesting picture of a man who flew too close to the sun. The duo quickly learns that trouble always seems to find them, no matter where they end up. This time, it comes in the form of Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), a wealthy ranch owner looking to control Beth and Rip. Dutton Ranch is essentially Yellowstone 2.0, so now's the time to catch up on Season 1 before Season 2 eventually returns.
