Earlier this month, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this year's nominees for the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards. HBO Max and Netflix led the field with over 100 nominations each. Farther down the list, you'll find Peacock, which landed 18 Emmy nominations. Peacock is only available in the United States and select U.S. territories, so it can't compete with the global spending from huge powers like Netflix. Peacock has increasingly prioritized live sports over scripted and unscripted TV shows. Therefore, it feels like some of its Emmy-nominated shows are trapped on the service. Luckily, Peacock is less expensive compared to many of its streaming competitors, so you can watch these shows at an affordable price point. All Her Fault is Peacock's top scripted drama this awards season, as it received seven Emmy nominations for the 2026 ceremony. It's a crime thriller based on Andrea Mara's 2021 novel of the same name, and as we've learned from other streaming services, these genre adaptations play well with mass audiences. Succession's Sarah Snook stars as Marissa Irvine, who experiences a parent's worst nightmare: Her young son, Milo (Duke McCloud), has gone missing. The authorities initially believe Milo has been kidnapped for ransom, but the ensuing investigation takes several unexpected turns, which will keep the audience guessing until the finale's final moments. It's the type of series to binge in one weekend. All Her Fault secured several key Emmy nods, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Lead Actress In a Limited or Anthology Series Or Movie (Snook). The Traitors A psychological party game played on a grand stage The Traitors, also known as The Traitors US outside of America, has been a runaway success for Peacock. The show has won the last two Emmys for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and will look to make it three-in-a-row in September. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the winner of two consecutive Emmys for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program, The Traitors is a psychological game that channels the spirit of a murder mystery party. The contestants, who are usually reality show stars, enter a Scottish castle in hopes of winning a cash prize. The majority of the contestants are the Faithful, while a small minority are named Traitors. The object of the game is for the Faithful to work together and eliminate the Traitors. If they succeed, the surviving Faithfuls split the prize. If a Traitor makes it to the end, they can claim the prize. In true reality fashion, many contestants lie, cheat, and deceive their way to the top. Many people I've talked to say that after watching one episode, you'll be hooked. The Traitors is quickly becoming one of the best reality shows on TV. He mastered the whodunnit genre with his three Knives Out movies. Johnson then implemented his mystery skills for television in Poker Face, a crime dramedy series starring Natasha Lyonne. Charlie Cale's (Lyonne) superpower is her ability to determine when someone is lying. Traveling across the United States, Charlie frequently finds herself in precarious situations, where her unusual skill set is needed to solve a crime. Poker Face follows the "howcatchem" format, where the culprit and victim of the crime are revealed at the beginning, and how Charlie gets to that conclusion plays out throughout the episode. Poker Face is also a case-of-the-week format, meaning Charlie solves a new crime each episode. It's a show where you can mostly watch almost in any order you want, though I suggest watching the pilot first to grasp the concept. Poker Face has seven Emmy nominations over its two-season run, with Judith Light winning Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series. The Day of the Jackal A deadly game of cat-and-mouse breaks out Recruiting an Oscar winner to jump to television is certainly a good start for a show. That's what occurred when Eddie Redmayne headlined the cast of The Day of the Jackal, based on Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel of the same name. The Jackal (Redmayne) is a high-level British assassin who kills for exorbitant amounts of money. Known for his precision and discipline, the Jackal's latest kill attracts something he doesn't need: a curious British intelligence officer named Bianca Pullman (Lashana Lynch), who opens an investigation into the Jackal's identity and whereabouts. If evading Bianca wasn't enough of a challenge, the Jackal runs into issues when his mysterious employer has no plans to honor his contract. The Day of the Jackal has the same energy as the riveting political thrillers of the 1970s. The series is a true globe-trotting adventure as it bounces between several countries, making for exhilarating action set pieces. The Day of the Jackal received one Emmy nomination for cinematography. However, Redmayne and the series as a whole picked up nominations at the Golden Globes and Actor Awards (formerly SAG Awards).
