4 CRPF personnel injured in accidental blast during explosives disposal

Four CRPF personnel were injured in an accidental blast during an explosives disposal operation in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Thursday, police said.The incident took place around 200 metres from the Elarmadagu camp, when an Ammunition Technician Team (ATT) from Jagdalpur was dismantling explosives. According to police, a fragment of an explosive or bomb flew and landed nearby, triggering the blast.Two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), MK Tiwari and Anish Khan, sustained serious injuries, while Inspector Amarnath Mishra and Head Constable Kuldeep Raj suffered minor injuries.All four injured personnel were immediately taken to the Government Hospital in Konta. Preparations are underway to shift the two seriously injured personnel to higher medical institutions, if required. Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayank Gurjar said the situation is currently under control.- Ends
