4 addictive Paramount+ miniseries you can binge in a single day

Dan's work can be seen in various publications, including Digital Trends, SportsCasting, and Tom's Guide. Throughout his career, Dan has interviewed several high-profile filmmakers and creatives, including Brendan Fraser, Jamie Lee Curtis, Caitriona Balfe, Frank Grillo, Miranda Cosgrove, Jai Courtney, Chris Columbus and James Cameron. The binge-watch model is still alive and well. Even though I prefer the weekly release, I'll still find myself crushing an entire season or miniseries in one sitting. It's all about finding a show that ends each episode with an enticing hook. If the final moments of an episode feature a shocking reveal or twist, I'm watching the next episode immediately. Netflix receives a lot of attention for its library, and rightfully so. However, Paramount+ has slowly been bolstering its selection of addictive miniseries. These four shows can be binge-watched in a single day. The list includes two thrillers, one biographical drama, and a Western. However, my top selection is produced by one of Paramount+'s most prominent creators. 4 The Guest When obsession gets out of control Here's the basic synopsis for The Guest. Tell me if it sounds like a version of this popular thriller. Ria Powell (Gabrielle Creevy) is struggling to make ends meet as a cleaner. Her life changes dramatically after meeting Fran Sharp (Eve Myles), a wealthy business entrepreneur who gives Ria a job cleaning her luxurious mansion. Fran also takes Ria under her wing, providing her lavish riches and inspiring her to be better. Eventually, a toxic relationship and a power struggle change their perspectives. That sounds a lot like a female-centric version of The Talented Mr. Ripley, an excellent Matt Damon movie that was later adapted into a terrific Netflix series. I imagine many Americans are hearing about The Guest for the first time since it originally aired on BBC One. British TV tends to produce twisted thrillers, and The Guest will be a lot of fun for those looking for Harlan Coben-esque shows. The Guest has four episodes with runtimes of 58 minutes each. However, Paramount+ is making up ground on Netflix with its diverse slate of thrillers. Girl Taken is a miniseries that flew under the radar when it was released this past January. The most recognizable name in the cast is Alfie Allen, who is best known for playing Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones. In the HBO show, Theon was captured and abused. In Girl Taken, he now plays the monstrous kidnapper. Lily Riser (Tallulah Evans) is a high school student living with her twin sister, Abby (Delphi Evans), and mother, Eve (Jill Halfpenny). One day after school, Lily agrees to a ride home with her teacher, Rick Hansen (Allen). Lily never makes it home, as Rick takes the young girl in as his prisoner. The show chronicles Lily's five years in captivity, followed by her eventual escape and quest for justice. Girl Taken takes an interesting approach to its subject by focusing on grief and how it affects Lily's family more than the crime itself. Girl Taken has six episodes with runtimes between 46 and 53 minutes. Girl Taken Release Date 2026 - 2026-00-00 2 George & Tammy Country music royalty embark on tumultuous relationship The majority of miniseries are viewed as prestige projects that attract actors from movies to television. They serve as vehicles to win awards. George & Tammy, a Showtime miniseries that premiered in December 2022, recruited Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon and Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain to play the titular country singers George Jones and Tammy Wynette. The miniseries chronicles the rocky relationship between George and Tammy, from their first meeting in the 1960s to their marriage in the 1970s and their final encounters in the 1990s. While their partnership spurred some hits, George's alcoholism and Tammy's drug addiction plagued their time together. George & Tammy certainly doesn't reinvent the biopic, but it's a tremendous showcase for Shannon and Chastain, with Chastain winning an Actor Award for her performance. George & Tammy has six episodes with runtimes between 47 and 57 minutes. 1 Lawmen: Bass Reeves An American icon Death, taxes, and Taylor Sheridan behind a Paramount+ show. If there is a Western or action show on Paramount+, chances are Sheridan is behind it. His roster includes 1923, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lioness, Landman, and The Madison. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is the rare show where Sheridan serves only as an executive producer. However, the hallmarks of a Sheridan show are still apparent. David Oyelowo stars as Bass Reeves, the first Black U.S. Marshal to serve west of the Mississippi River. After escaping from slavery, the iconic lawman went on to arrest over 3,000 criminals. However, the show is much more than just a cops-and-robbers adventure. Lawmen: Bass Reeves explores how a Black man overcame a deeply discriminatory system and then grappled with the morality of his decisions. Lawmen: Bass Reeves has eight episodes with runtimes between 32 and 57 minutes. What else should I watch this week? If you're still on Paramount+, there are other shows that should be added to your watchlist. One series to watch is MobLand, Guy Ritchie's crime drama starring Tom Hardy, which recently returned for season 2. On Netflix, try a short show like One Day or The Haunting of Bly Manor if you only have a day to stream
