In last weekend's Prime Video movie recommendations, I explored Do Not Enter, World War Z, and Moonfall. I am glad to say that all three of those movies are ready for another one this weekend if you have yet to check them out on Prime Video. Brad Pitt's World War Z ranks a little higher, with the zombie movie at 7th. Joining it on this weekend's Prime Video movie recommendations is a gritty action thriller and a new fantasy movie that was not a major hit in theaters, but has now found its audience on streaming. 3 Ruthless (2023) The first movie on the list is the thriller Ruthless. Starring Scream franchise actor Dermot Mulroney, the movie is a revenge tale that will leave viewers with their blood boiling. A high school coach decides to single-handedly stop the human trafficking operation that had kidnapped one of his students. This is a story about revenge, as the man has a tragic past. Mulroney's Harry had a daughter who was raped and murdered years before his student, Catia, was kidnapped. As such, that trauma and the feeling of helplessness fuel Harry to step in and give the kidnappers hell. This is simply one of the best sci-fi movies of the last few years, and a true masterpiece. Everything about The Wild Robot is top-notch, from its gorgeously vivid animation that blends 2D and 3D to its strong voice actors' performances to its story with many twists, heartwarming moments, sad events, and action sequences. The Wild Robot follows the service robot Roz, who, after a shipwreck, comes to life on an island filled with lush vegetation and wildlife, and after making some tweaks to herself, takes in an orphaned gosling. This is a story about found family, community, survival, and determination. The Wild Robot's cast features stars like Pedro Pascal, Lupita Nyong'o, Catherine O'Hara, Mark Hamill, Kit Connor, and more. The sci-fi movie boasts an astounding 97% critics' score and an even better 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. 1 Masters Of The Universe (2026) Finally, the best movie to watch on Prime Video this weekend has to be Masters of the Universe. The fantasy movie focused on the popular hero He-Man was not a hit in theaters. However, everyone is now discovering it on streaming, and they are finding out that Masters of the Universe is a fantasy adventure with an immersive world, colorful characters, plenty of action, great CGI, and much more. That is why Masters of the Universe is currently the most-watched movie on Prime Video worldwide and in the United States, according to FlixPatrol. It boasts a star-studded cast, with names like Nicholas Galitzine, Idris Elba, Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, and more.
