Sign in to your ScreenRant account Netflix subscribers will be able to watch some fitting movies this Halloween weekend on the streaming service, including both animated and live-action options, all with major stars attached. On last weekend's Netflix movie recommendations, I explored why subscribers might feel inclined to check out James McAvoy's Split, Ridley Scott's Gladiator II, and Chris Evans' Sacrifice, with two of those movies sharing a key actress. That would be Anya Taylor-Joy, who will be seen in theaters in a couple of months with the release of one of the most anticipated movies of 2026, Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three. Taylor-Joy also stars in one of the best movies on Netflix to watch this weekend, a film that can be deemed a dark comedy, a psychological thriller, and a horror all rolled into one. Looking at last weekend's Netflix movie recommendations, only one of the suggestions finds itself on Netflix's Top 10 Movies chart in the United States at the time of writing. That film would be Scott's historical epic Gladiator II, which currently stands at 4th on Netflix nationwide. The action franchise also takes the 10th spot on that list with Russell Crowe's Gladiator. Scratch & Peek Identify the cover art while scratching off as little foil as possible. As far as our new recommendations go, I decided to go all out on the theme of movies that are perfect for Halloween as this weekend is all about the holiday. Joining Taylor-Joy's darker horror thriller is a Halloween-themed comedy and an animated fantasy smash hit that is resurging a year later. These are the best movies to watch on Netflix on Halloween weekend: 3 KPop Demon Hunters (2025) The first entry on the list is the most different from the rest, as it is the only animated movie among our Halloween recommendations. KPop Demon Hunters is also the most popular Netflix movie of all time, boasting a record total of 325.1 million views, just short of 100 million views above Netflix's 2nd most-watched movie ever, the star-studded Red Notice. While the animated fantasy movie was originally released on the streaming service in 2025, KPop Demon Hunters has just re-entered Netflix's charts as the 7th most popular movie on the streamer in the US right now. KPop Demon Hunters is perfect for the Halloween weekend on Netflix, as it offers a unique experience as a musical that sees a K-pop girl group fight demons. 2 Hubie Halloween (2020) Another lighter Netflix Original movie this Halloween for those who are not looking for intense horror is the Adam Sandler holiday comedy Hubie Halloween. The 2020 Netflix movie sees Sandler play the title character, a delicatessen worker who is not the brightest and ends up being the butt of jokes for pretty much everyone in Salem, Massachusetts. However, he loves Halloween, and when a real threat comes knocking on Halloween night, it is Hubie to the rescue. The Sandler comedy has started to chart on Netflix again ahead of the holiday, with Hubie Halloween now the 8th most-watched movie on Netflix in the United States. The film comes with an absolutely stacked cast, featuring names like Kevin James, Maya Rudolph, Ben Stiller, Noah Schnapp, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, and many more. Hubie Halloween is a hilarious Halloween movie filled with beloved stars. Finally, the only darker release on this weekend's Netflix movie recommendations is The Menu, which arrived on Netflix on October 1. The R-rated psychological horror movie connects to our last Netflix weekend recommendations, which featured two movies starring Anya Taylor-Joy, the same actress at the heart of The Menu. In The Menu, Taylor-Joy's Margot goes as the date of Nicholas Hoult's Tyler to an exclusive restaurant on a private island to try out the food from the renowned Chef Slowik, played by Ralph Fiennes. What starts as a mysterious experience quickly turns into a nightmare as Margot realizes that something sinister is in play, having to desperately find a way to survive the night. The Menu will end the Halloween weekend on Netflix with a bang.
