Disney's history of adaptations spans nearly a century and has transformed beloved fairy tales, folklore, and classic literature into major animated and live-action blockbuster movies. It began in 1937 with the release of the first full-length American animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Since then, some iconic movies have been created, including Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Sleeping Beauty, making Disney the home of magical movies. Deadline reported that Predator franchise director Trachtenberg will adapt the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty into a brand-new original movie. Disney is also on board, and the untitled project is in early development. Plot details are largely being kept under wraps, but insiders have confirmed that Angelina Jolie's Maleficent movies won't have any affiliation. Rayna McClendon (known for Willow and The Walking Dead: World Beyond) and Trachtenberg came up with the story, and Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf are writing the script. More to come...
