20K Detroit absentee ballots are already back. What voters need to know

With about 20% of Detroit's absentee ballots already returned four weeks before Election Day, officials are optimistic about voter turnout. This early response could be a sign of increased civic engagement or awareness about the importance of the upcoming election. Early returns also give election officials more time to manage logistics and address any issues that may arise, ensuring a smooth voting process. This trend underscores the significance of absentee voting and its role in the democratic process.
