Another exciting year of college football is expected to take place during the 2026 season. How the SEC plays out is certainly going to be of great interest. Both within the conference and across the country, as the SEC is looking to get back in the national championship game for the first time since 2023. But before getting there, teams must go through Atlanta to hoist the SEC trophy. A snapshot of who might exactly do that was provided by Polymarket. The prediction market will certainly fluctuate throughout the year but the current numbers give us a look at how the stage is set ahead of Week 1. [ $19.99 gets you a FULL year of On3 | Rivals national coverage ] For the most part, two teams stand out more than others in the odds. Past them, there is a steep decline in the numbers. Let’s check out how the entire SEC stands, beginning down in Athens. 1. Georgia Bulldogs – 24% Traders say Georgia is currently the SEC favorite, and why would it be any different? Despite College Football Playoff struggles, the Bulldogs have retained their conference crown. Kirby Smart has another great team building ahead of the ’26 season. Gunner Stockton returns at quarterback, hoping to pair nicely with a trademark Smart defense. 2. Texas Longhorns – 23% Slightly behind Georgia are the Texas Longhorns, who are also getting national championship buzz. Based on the odds, a rematch of the 2024 SEC Championship would take place in Atlanta. Texas would look a whole lot different walking into Mercedes-Benz Stadium, though. Walking out with a win would be the program’s first-ever SEC title. 3. Alabama Crimson Tide – 10% Kalen DeBoer got Alabama in this game just a year ago. However, the result did not go their way, stumbling in what was a regular-season rematch against Georgia. Looking ahead, traders say Alabama has a 10% chance of winning the SEC. The Crimson Tide begin what is a noticeable second tier in the odds. T-4. LSU Tigers – 9% Arguably the most-discussed SEC team this offseason, LSU is the first of two teams at 9% per Polymarket. Of course, the main story is Lane Kiffin. Leaving Ole Miss for LSU turned into college football’s national headline. Before we know it, the actual football will be here. Kiffin wants to compete right away in Baton Rouge, both in the conference and on the national scale. T-4. Texas A&M Aggies – 9% Texas A&M has been oh-so-close to traveling to Atlanta the past couple of years. Wins in season finales vs. in-state rivals Texas were required both times, only for the Aggies to fall short. But at the same time, Texas A&M has to feel like they’re on the doorstep. Plenty of aspects are in their favor, including Marcel Reed coming back. Mike Elko is a big part of the equation as well, serving as a top defensive mind in the SEC. 6. Ole Miss Rebels – 8% Many in Oxford believe Trinidad Chambliss is the best quarterback in the SEC. Hard to argue against what he did for Ole Miss during the postseason, guiding a Pete Golding-led bunch to the CFP semifinals. A court case got Chambliss back in college for another year. Now, expectations and hype are only growing for Ole Miss. They are one of five members to never appear in the SEC Championship, looking to jump off that list. 7. Oklahoma Sooners – 6% Similar to Ole Miss, Oklahoma has yet to make the Atlanta journey. The Sooners have been in the SEC for a much shorter timeframe, though, only joining ahead of the 2024 season. And this might be OU’s best chance to get there since moving from the Big 12. The market puts Oklahoma at 6%, a spot ahead of the remaining nine SEC teams. Big opportunity ahead for the program.
