The 2026 college football season is just weeks away, and Polymarket has revealed the odds for every Big 12 team to win the conference title. And by the looks of things, one Big 12 team looks to do some big things this year. Texas Tech was in the headlines a lot during the offseason because of the Brendan Sorsby ordeal. And while Sorsby won’t play for the Red Raiders this year, the team still has the talent to make a title run. But there are a few teams that could give Texas Tech a run for its money. Here’s a look at the Polymarket odds for every Big 12 team to win the conference championship. [ $19.99 gets you a FULL year of On3 | Rivals national coverage ] 1. Texas Tech Red Raiders – 50% Polymarket believes Texas Tech won’t have too many issues winning its second consecutive Big 12 title. Last year, the Red Raiders won all their 12 games by 14 points or more. Texas Tech might have the strongest roster in the conference. The running tandem of Cameron Dickey and J’Koby Williams tallied nearly 2,000 yards last season. 2. BYU Cougars – 14% If there is one team that can hang with Texas Tech this fall, it would have to be BYU. In 2025, the Cougars lost only two games, and both of the losses were against the Red Raiders. Expectations are high for BYU after going 11-2 in 2024 and 12-2 last year. The last time the Cougars won a conference championship was in 2007, when they were part of the Mountain West. 3. Utah Utes – 10% This year’s Holy War between Utah and BYU could determine who will play in the Big 12 Championship game. It will be interesting to see how this team looks under new head coach Morgan Scalley. The last time Utah won the conference title was in 2022 when it was part of the Pac-12. Last year, the Utes finished 11-2 and 7-2 in Big Ten play. 4. Oklahoma State Cowboys – 7% Oklahoma State is entering a new era with Eric Morris as its head coach. Morris takes over for Mike Gundy, who won the Big 12 Coach of the Year award three times. Morris comes to the Cowboys after a successful run at North Texas. Last year, Morris led the Mean Green to an 11-2 record and an appearance in the American Conference Championship game. T5. Houston Cougars – 6% Based on what Houston did last year, a run at the Big 12 title would not be shocking. After finishing 4-8 in 2023 and 2024, the Cougars broke out and finished 10-3 in 2025. Willie Fritz is entering his third season as Houston’s head coach. He’s no stranger to building successful programs, winning multiple conference titles and two junior college national championships. T5. Kansas State Wildcats – 6% Kansas State is going through changes with Collin Klein taking over as the head coach. He takes over for Chris Klieman, who announced his retirement after the 2025 season. The Wildcats have posted a 10-6 Big 12 record over the last two seasons. Klein, a former Kansas State QB, looks to get them over the hump after spending the last two seasons as Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator. T5. TCU Horned Frogs – 6% TCU is looking to get back the swagger it had in 2022. At that time, the Horned Frogs went 13-2 and reached the national championship game. The last two seasons have been solid for TCU, finishing 9-4 each year. We’ll see in Harvard transfer QB Jaden Craig can get the program in the mix for the conference title.
