This couldn't be closer to the truth when it comes to ex-Capcom director Hideki Kamiya, behind Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, and more recently shared his desire to revisit one canceled action game in particular. Having been canned after a lengthy 4-year development cycle and numerous promotional trailers that raised plenty of excitement over its release, this fantasy action-RPG is one game that would be excellent to see brought back from the dead, the chances of which just skyrocketed if this recent interview is anything to go by. As noted by Eurogamer, in an interview with the Video Games Chronicle, Hideki Kamiya as the new lead of his studio Clovers, the famed director shared that while he hasn't been in any official talks with Xbox CEO Asha Sharma about 2017's Scalebound, "even now I still very strongly desire to be able to see through if it’s all possible," while adding that he is "100% serious" about wanting to work on the project again. Although this is far from the first time Hideki has expressed his desire to revisit Scalebound in recent years, the fact that the project is still being discussed internally with the ex-Scalebound developers at Clover is still a great sign, which Hideki adds by saying, "I strongly believe that if you want something strongly enough, you eventually find a way to make it happen." While the director did lament that the studio isn't "in a position to do that right this second" considering the ongoing development of the Okami 2 sequel releasing over 20 years after the original, it wouldn't be much of a stretch for the now more experienced studio to jump on another project like Scalebound in the future. The Project Likely Won't Happen For A While Given that Hideki has yet to discuss his intentions of reviving Xbox's cancelled action-RPG with its current property owners, development of the project wouldn't even be able to start for quite some time if it was approved, let alone how long it would take to actually have the game in a playable state afterwards. Even with the project needing to be built from the ground up once again, Xbox's current push for new big releases could be the perfect time to actually get Scalebound off the ground once again, especially considering the biggest roadblock at the time was the self-proclaimed inexperience of its developers, who have now been working in the industry for quite some time.
