On Wednesday evening, Oct. 7, a fresh Russian attack on Kyiv killed two people and injured at least 13 in the Solomianskyi and Obolonskyi districts, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA). A woman was found dead near a burning car, according to the KMVA and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) initially reported four people injured at the site. The DSNS later said one of the injured people had died, bringing the death toll to two and leaving three injured. Klitschko later said six injured people had been hospitalized, including a young woman found near the burning vehicle in Obolonskyi district. She was in serious condition. The latest attack came just hours after Russia launched a massive overnight missile and drone barrage against Ukraine that killed at least 25 people and injured more than 100, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. In Solomianskyi district, the number of people injured in the daytime Russian drone attack rose to eight, according to Ukrainian authorities. Drone debris also fell near an educational institution in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district. In Sviatoshynskyi district, falling drone debris damaged the roof of an administrative building.
