1st to go if Dhanush starts own party: DMK jabs Aadhav Arjuna over loyalty to Vijay

Amid speculation that Tamil actor Dhanush could soon enter politics and launch a political party, the DMK has taken a sharp swipe at Chief Minister Joseph Vijay's confidante and TVK strategist Aadhav Arjuna, suggesting he could be among the first to switch sides if Dhanush enters politics.DMK organisational secretary RS Bharathi, referring to Arjuna’s political trajectory -- from his association with the DMK to the VCK led by Thol Thirumavalavan and eventually the TVK -- accused him of being a leader who "switches parties every season".Arjuna, 44, is considered a close confidant of Vijay and is among the prominent strategists associated with the TVK."They are saying that someone named Dhanush is going to start a political party. If he does start one, the very first signature on it will be Aadhav Arjuna’s, and nobody else's," he said. Bharathi then turned his criticism to Arjuna’s earlier association with the DMK, referring to his exit from the party before moving to the VCK."If someone addresses you as Anna (brother), it means they are trying to tie you down or flatter you. He received training with us, but, as the saying goes, ‘toxic companionship ends in ruin’, and he was driven out," Bharathi said. Arjuna is popularly referred to as 'Aadhav Anna' by his supporters. Taking a further dig at Arjuna's stint with the VCK, Bharathi alleged that he later moved to Thirumavalavan's camp before eventually leaving that party as well."From there, he went and patted comrade Thirumavalavan on the head, smoothed things over there, bankrupted him, took everyone from here and dumped them there, and then abandoned him and ran away. Now he has gone to TVK," the DMK leader said at a public event.Bharathi described Arjuna as someone who "hops from place to place from season to season", referring to his movement between political outfits.Arjuna has previously been associated with both the DMK and VCK before joining TVK, where he has emerged as one of Vijay's prominent political strategists and associates.
