Jeo Robert Arirao, Calayan municipal disaster risk reduction and management officer, said that the boat, MB Geri An, was on its way to Calayan after leaving the port in Claveria town in the morning. However, the boat was smashed by strong waves that caused it to be drenched with water and eventually capsized.
