Variety reports that an adaptation of Arabian Nights is in the works from creator Steven S. DeKnight. It's slated to film in Bahrain in 2027. It promises to reimagine the Middle Eastern and South Asian folk tales known as One Thousand and One Nights as one interconnected saga. The official logline is included below: “Shahrazad must join forces with Sinbad, Aladdin and Ali Baba to save the world from an evil sorcerer leading the Jinn, dark spirits from another dimension. In the process, she becomes the greatest storyteller of all time, incorporating her adventures into the legendary tales which still inspire humanity today.” Arabian Nights is expected to begin filming in Bahrain in September with support from the country. The series comes from Los Angeles-based Veritas Entertainment and creator Kamran Pasha, who is developing the pilot script and series overview with Steven S. DeKnight. Veritas plans to take the project to potential buyers next week, with the intention of telling the story across multiple seasons. Pasha and DeKnight executive produce alongside Veritas’ Peter Jaysen and Alan Gasmer. They are joined by Aaron Shershow and Clive Standen. Andy Cutler is also producing for Veritas Entertainment.
