The Clone Wars is widely considered one of the best Star Wars shows ever made, and for good reason. Over the course of its seven seasons, the show either introduced or redefined some of the best characters in Star Wars, and it showed many of them at the most powerful they ever were. In ranking the power players of The Clone Wars according to their strength, it's important to have some criteria. Anything that could contribute to a character's power, from their ability to use the Force to the troops and resources at their disposal, will be considered. Additionally, each character will only be judged based on the powers and abilities they displayed during The Clone Wars itself; Anakin, for example, won't benefit from his future as Darth Vader, while Maul won't be hindered by his future anticlimactic death in Star Wars Rebels. 12 Maul The Clone Wars famously resurrected Maul after his apparent death in The Phantom Menace, and it also gave him some major upgrades in power. Maul retained most of his powers from his Star Wars movie appearance, including many dark side Force powers, his double-bladed lightsaber, and his never-ending rage. After Mother Talzin resurrected him, he also gained cybernetic legs that increased the strength of his lower body and, eventually, a partner in Savage Opress. Maul also grew in power as The Clone Wars went on, as he learned to manipulate people in secret and formed his Shadow Collective. At one point, he ruled Mandalore as a puppet government, though he was eventually dethroned by Ahsoka Tano and her clone forces. Maul also suffered several losses in the show, in fights with both Ahsoka and Darth Sidious, and he eventually lost both Savage and his Shadow Collective. Maul was doomed to fail, which limits how powerful he can be considered. 11 Ahsoka Tano Though she was only a padawan for the majority of The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano grew to become one of the show's most powerful Force wielders. A student of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka inherited many of his best and worst attributes. She was headstrong and stubborn, but also fiercely loyal and utterly fearless in deadly situations. Under Anakin's tutelage, she also became one of the greatest lightsaber duelists ever, and she holds the increasingly common distinction of being a survivor of Order 66. While Ahsoka eventually left the Jedi Order, her power never stopped growing. Over the years, she defeated Maul in a lightsaber battle, conducted the Siege of Mandalore, managed to escape Order 66 without killing any clones, and even escaped the combined might of the Jedi Order and Coruscant's police after she was falsely accused of a bombing at the Jedi Temple. Throughout The Clone Wars, Ahsoka routinely rose to the challenge of fighting in a war as a child soldier, but since she was still so early in her journey, she can't be ranked any higher in terms of power. 10 Plo Koon Plo Koon wasn't exactly a main character of The Clone Wars, but he was a standout among the Jedi. As a Jedi Master, Plo Koon could use the Force for telekinesis, to enhance his physical abilities, and he wielded a lightsaber as a fairly skilled duelist. Plo Koon also commanded a battalion of clones known as the Wolf Pack, who distinguished themselves as some of the Republic's finest fighters under his leadership. Plo Koon was a fairly standard Jedi in terms of power, but what set him apart from others was his skills as a pilot. Among the Jedi, Anakin Skywalker was likely the only pilot who could surpass him, thanks to his Jedi reaction times and general experience in flying. More broadly, Plo Koon also exemplified all the virtues of the Jedi, from his kindness and compassion to both clones and padawans to his unflinching belief in the light side of the Force. 9 Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the most important people in all of Star Wars, but he was essentially a "normal" Jedi in The Clone Wars. Obi-Wan had all the standard Jedi powers, from telekinesis to acrobatics and lightsaber training. He was also one of the greatest defensive lightsaber duelists ever, though he was defeated rather frequently. Over the course of the show, Obi-Wan fought Count Dooku, General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, Maul, and Savage Opress several times and survived each encounter. Obi-Wan is also something of a wildcard among the Jedi. While other Jedi were more impressive than him in terms of traditional powers and abilities, Obi-Wan was surprisingly cunning. He foiled Count Dooku's plan to assassinate Palpatine by faking his own death and posing as a bounty hunter, and he foiled Pre Vizsla's first attempt to usurp power on Mandalore. Obi-Wan may have been an ordinary Jedi, but his iron will and commitment to serving the light made him more powerful than he should have been. 8 Mother Talzin A rare outlier who belongs to neither the Jedi nor the Sith, Mother Talzin nonetheless cemented herself as one of The Clone Wars' biggest power players. As Clan Mother of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, Talzin commanded a considerably well-trained group of Nightsisters that carried out her bidding without question. She also proved to be a fairly competent political power, though she was betrayed by Count Dooku. Mother Talzin's real power was as a Force witch. Talzin had knowledge even the Jedi and Sith couldn't comprehend, and she used her magicks to accomplish things no one else could. Just to name a few of her abilities: Talzin could use a crystal ball to see into the future and across the galaxy, control people from several star systems away using only a lock of their hair, use the Force to create a protective barrier, and turn into an ethereal cloud and enter the spirit world. However, Talzin was routinely defeated by the Sith, and her homeworld of Dathomir was ravaged by Grievous. 7 Count Dooku Count Dooku may not have been the mastermind of the Clone Wars, but he was instrumental in making them happen. As the figurehead of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Dooku commanded the entire droid army, though he often outsourced that task to General Grievous. He also trained several skilled combatants, including Grievous and Asajj Ventress, yet proved on multiple occasions that he was still their better. As a Sith, Dooku could wield Force lightning, he routinely held his own against both Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi at the same time, he defended himself from Asajj and Savage Opress, and more. Perhaps his greatest strength, however, was in his political prowess. Dooku unified the CIS for years and waged an extremely effective war against the Republic. He may have been Palpatine's pawn, but Dooku wielded his considerable power extremely well. 6 Anakin Skywalker Though he would go on to become much stronger, Anakin Skywalker still had some development to do during The Clone Wars. Anakin was undeniably talented, both in the Jedi arts of the Force and the lightsaber and as a military strategist. He was arguably the greatest lightsaber duelist to ever live, but he also constantly devised plans to trick and outsmart his opponents in the Confederacy of Independent Systems, even though those plans were very often war crimes. The main thing holding Anakin back from being ranked any higher was his immaturity. Anakin was headstrong and hotheaded in The Clone Wars, two attributes that frequently got him into trouble and lessened his effectiveness. Still, his raw strength is undeniable. Some of his feats include killing one of the Mortis gods, he regularly fought people like Count Dooku to a draw, and he defeated several prominent CIS officers in battle, like Admiral Trench. 5 Mace Windu Mace Windu wasn't featured much in The Clone Wars, but when he did get an appearance, he made the absolute most of it. Windu would routinely fight in the frontlines of the Clone Wars right alongside the clones under his command, and he was capable of wiping out hundreds of battle droids in a matter of minutes. By his count, Windu destroyed over 100,000 battle droids by the end of the war. Windu's main feats of power came from battle, but he also had a few standout moments in The Clone Wars that really highlighted his strength. He defeated the Nightsister Mother Talzin in a fight, preventing her from reincarnating. He protected himself from an assassination attempt led by Boba Fett and some of the most deadly bounty hunters in the galaxy. He protected Palpatine from the rampaging Zillo Beast, and more. Even just based on his actions in canon, Mace Windu was one of the strongest Jedi of the Clone Wars. 4 Yoda Among the Jedi, no character in The Clone Wars could match Yoda. Yoda's greatest strength was his wisdom, which in turn granted him immense mastery of the light side of the Force. He had all the standard Jedi powers, but he also had centuries' worth of experience in using them. Additionally, over the course of The Clone Wars, Yoda learned how to become a Force ghost, found the Wellspring of Life, and even survived the Sith's power on Moraband. Though he was small in stature, Yoda was also exceptionally skilled with a lightsaber. By using the Force to enhance himself, Yoda could easily defeat countless droids, less skilled duelists like Asajj Ventress, and even go toe-to-toe with Darth Sidious, albeit in a vision. Yoda wasn't without flaws, but his unending wisdom and willingness to learn helped make him the greatest Jedi in The Clone Wars. 3 Sheev Palpatine The most powerful mortal in The Clone Wars was none other than Sheev Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious. As Palpatine, he commanded the entire clone army, exercised enormous sway over the Galactic Senate and the entire galaxy's politics, and orchestrated both a civil war and the largest political coup of all time, all while staying hidden in the shadows. Palpatine's strategic brilliance and planning abilities were second to none, and he'd have a strong case to be the strongest even if he wasn't a Sith Lord. As Darth Sidious, Palpatine was somehow even stronger. He could use Force lightning, he manipulated Count Dooku countless times, and he handily beat both Maul and Savage Opress at the same time in a lightsaber duel. Sidious had tremendous physical power, unmatched mastery of the dark side of the Force, and more. Combined, his Sith powers and political powers easily put him at the top of this list.
