Erik ten Hag A huge bust-up with Ten Hag spelled the end of Ronaldo’s second stint at Old Trafford. The Portuguese threw a strop after being dropped by the then-United boss and refused to come on as a late substitute against Tottenham in 2022. He then publicly stated he had ‘no respect’ for Ten Hag, and his contract was terminated by mutual consent. Ralf Rangnick Ronaldo did not seem overly impressed with the German when he took interim charge of United in 2021. He admitted he had ‘never even heard of him’ and was not keen on his pressing tactics, according to reports. And CR7 had evidently been paying attention, as when Sky Sports rocked up to Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, he warmly greeted former United team-mates Roy Keane and Gary Neville on the touchline before completely IGNORING Carragher. Brutal. Gary Lineker A staunch member of the pro-Messi brigade, Lineker is not convinced by Ronaldo’s claim to being the greatest footballer of all time. And after making those feelings known, Ronaldo unfollowed him on social media. Lineker told The Rest Is Football: “He doesn’t like me very much, Cristiano Ronaldo. I didn’t upset him by anything I said about him. Other than the fact I’m honest and think overall Messi’s a better footballer.” Alessandro Florenzi The former Italy and AC Milan star clashed with Ronaldo during a match in 2019. But the Brazilian may have been struck off following his recent comments about Messi. After joining him at Inter Miami, Casemiro said: “For me, without a doubt, I am coming to play with the best player of all time. He’s one of, if not the god of football.” Antonio Cassano Italian football legend and former Real Madrid star Cassano was highly critical of Ronaldo during his time at Juve. He called him ‘selfish’ and insisted he ‘did not know how’ to play as part of a team. Cassano later revealed that Ronaldo got hold of his phone number, messaged him about his football achievements and demanded more respect. Sepp Blatter The former Fifa boss made fun of Ronaldo during a speech at the Oxford Union in 2013, saying he spent ‘more time at the hairdresser’ than Messi. Ronaldo posted the clip publicly and Blatter lodged a formal apology with his club at the time, Real Madrid.
