Local media initially reported six deaths.Rakhis Ahmat Saleh, president of the Batha provincial council, described the situation as "profoundly regrettable" in a statement Friday, urging residents to prioritize dialogue and reconciliation.Security forces have been deployed to the area to prevent further escalation and restore calm, sources said.Intercommunal clashes linked to land disputes are common in Chad.
