The Sugar Maple Inn By Laura Bloom I hesitate to add this book to the list, as I'll admit that it is the only book here I have not been able to read yet. The Sugar Maple Inn by Laura Bloom won't be released for another few weeks, on September 15, 2026, but is one of my most anticipated reads of the season. Early reviewers have been giving it high reviews, and the overall story just sounds so charming that it would be a shame not to mention it here. Single mom, Grace Sullivan, wants to buy and restore the historic inn on Maple Island, but handsome billionaire Reese Spencer is also looking to purchase it to solve a family mystery. Unbeknownst to the two of them, they have also been talking to each other online, where what started as business advice has become flirtatious. The story sounds so idyllic and cozy as the two get trapped together in a storm, and I can't wait to see what happens. Fall Too Well By Erin Branscom When a cowboy romance is done well, it can produce some of the best swoon-worthy contemporary romance books. Fall Too Well by Erin Branscom is one of those books that you won't want to put down. This story is a mixture of spicy second-chance tropes with a broody cowboy and a single mom. While this is the second in the Cozy Creek Collection series, it's written as a standalone so you won't be confused if you haven't read the first entry, although Fall Too Well might just make you want to go back and devour the rest of the series too. Embrace By Bal Khabra Perhaps one of the biggest sub-genres of contemporary romance books has been the influx of hockey romance. It's actually a bit surprising that there aren't more hockey romances set with a fall focus, since hockey season generally starts in late September. Sadly, Embrace by Bal Khabra also doesn't really bring as much of an autumn vibe as it could have. However, this college hockey love story is still wonderful to read at this time of year. The main characters here are in a study group together, trying to help hockey player Kian bring his grades up to get his degree. The feelings of being back in school, cramming in a study session, plus the sweet slow-burn romance and exploration of grief all make this book perfectly bingeable. The Cinnamon Spice Inn By Harper Graham The Cinnamon Spice Inn by Harper Graham tells of a food writer and coffee addict named Madison who leaves New York to come to the small town of Maple Falls to save her childhood home, The Cinnamon Spice Inn. Of course, her ex, Zach, happens to be the handyman working to relaunch the inn, and neither of them is too happy to see each other. The steamy romance takes place in the perfect fall setting, with the Inn set to reopen on Halloween. It will have you chuckling to yourself as you see the two main characters fight against their attraction and love for each other. Fall I Want By Lyra Parish Despite being from different authors, Fall I Want is actually the first book of the Cozy Creek Collection, which the above-mentioned Fall Too Well is also a part of. Each of these stories are standalone, autumn-inspired romantic comedies, and though they are written by different authors, they all take place in the same small town. In Fall I Want, the spicy feel-good story is full of tropes like the brokenhearted billionaire, grumpy x sunshine, and fake dating. If you're looking for cozy fall vibes, this is your book. Sure, it can be a bit cheesy and predictable at times, but you'll have so much fun along the way. If It Makes You Happy By Julie Olivia With a rating over four stars on Goodreads, If It Makes You Happy was one of the biggest fall romances of 2025 and one that deserves its own romance television show or movie adaptation. Set in the nineties, with a lot of nostalgic references to that time period, If It Makes You Happy offers a sweet friends-to-lovers story. Like any good Hallmark romance, the story is a bit predictable, but the journey that the book takes you on is absolutely worth it. While healing from recent events that shook her up pretty badly, Michelle heads to Copper Run to take over her mom's bed-and-breakfast. Of course, she doesn't know what she's doing and can't bake for anything. Which is the perfect entry for her single-dad neighbor, Cliff, to step in and help out. He's funny, sweet, and an excellent baker, and the slow-burn romance that forms between the two is as heartwarming as it is emotional. Cinnamon Bun Book Store By Laurie Gilmore Of course, if you're a fan of The Pumpkin Spice Café, there are so many more books in that series to enjoy. Unfortunately, most of them don't take place in the fall, so they don't carry the same autumnal vibes as the first title, but they are still sweet love stories all taking place in Dream Harbor, where you can get glimpses of the couples from past books interacting. Among these is Laurie Gilmore's The Cinnamon Bun Book Store, which is the book immediately following Pumpkin Spice Café, and features the adorably shy Hazel and her charming bookstore. Sadly, despite the autumn leaves on the cover of the book, much of the story doesn't actually take place in the fall, but is actually more of a summer romance. That said, the book is still lovely and a wonderful continuation of the Dream Harbor world. Fall For Me By Camilla Isley Fall For Me by Camilla Isley is one of the newer books on this list, having just released in July 2026. Featuring a woman running from a toxic relationship who quite literally knocks a billionaire bachelor off his bike while she's wearing a wedding dress. If that isn't a memorable meet-cute, nothing is. Of course, this then leads to small-town rumors that the woman, Peyton, is actually his secret new wife, and a whole marriage of convenience is formed. It's such an easy romance to binge, and full of all the autumn themes like kissing in a corn maze, carving pumpkins, and more. Something About September By Julia McKay Julia McKay's Something About September is also a new release, from August 18, 2026. It's on the shorter side and will make you smile as you read about this sweet second-chance romance. Professor Becca isn't happy with her job in the big city, and then she finds out she has to come home to take care of her late grandmother's diner in 30 days or face consequences. Of course, the only contractor who can help her in the small town is her old flame, Cort Adams, who she believes never felt the same for her. With her best friend running the nearby orchard and creating an apple empire, and city politics requiring fall decorations everywhere, the book truly shows how there's something magical about September. Bonfire And Bliss Bookstore By Brittanee Nicole If you're reading this list because you're a fan of The Pumpkin Spice Café, you will absolutely love Brittanee Nicole's new book, Bonfire and Bliss Bookstore. It is full of everything fall, to the point that you'll want to get an apple cider as you read it, and has the coziest story of fake dating possible. Penny needs a fake boyfriend to stop the ladies in town from fretting over her, and her childhood best friend, who is now a popular author, Monty just came back to town while in a writing slump. Penny helps teach Monty what it takes to be the perfect book boyfriend, while he teaches her how a woman should be taken care of, in all the best ways possible. It is autumn romance at its finest, and personally speaking, it might just be even better than Pumpkin Spice Café.
