Known by the mass audiences today as "hype moments and aura," the MCU characters truly know how to make an epic entrance, and they end up being some of the most memorable moments in The Avengers franchise. If there's a moment in which Marvel Studios can get audiences cheering and clapping, they're going to make it happen. Half of said moments are character entrances in The Avengers movies. It's a very tough competition, but there are some universally agreed-upon opinions on The Avengers franchise's character entrances. 10 Captain Marvel Turns the Tide: 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019) Image via Marvel Studios When the Marvel heroes all go to war against Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his army, it doesn't immediately go their way. When Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) brings a beat down on the Mad Titan, seemingly about to kill him, he orders his men to fire on the battlefield. Obviously, this does some great damage to people all across the board... until Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) arrives. Before Thanos' ship, the Sanctuary II, can do any more damage, the absurdly overpowered MCU powerhouse flies in and blows it to shreds. With her being out in space, helping other planets with the fallout of The Snap, she was missing from the entire film—besides a few scenes at the start—and came back when everyone needed her most. It was the perfect way to bring her back into the fold. 9 The Avengers Are Back!: 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (2015) Image via Marvel Studios After the Avengers came together in the first film, it was unclear how active they would be together in the time before the next entry in the franchise—given they all went their separate ways after the Battle of New York. So, when Avengers: Age of Ultron opened and the team was all together, storming a HYDRA compound, it was an amazing moment. Turns out, yes, they have been active since The Avengers and have been slowly taking down HYDRA post-Captain America: The Winter Soldier's big HYDRA reveal. Seeing them all seamlessly work together is a huge treat for fans, with them pulling off cool combo moves—Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Captain America (Chris Evans) getting an especially cool one—and having fun banter. It was arguably the perfect way to open Avengers: Age of Ultron. 8 Thor Kidnaps Loki: 'The Avengers' (2012) Image via Marvel Studios After S.H.I.E.L.D. gets their hands on Loki in Act One of The Avengers, all seems well until, during transport to their headquarters, someone comes to take the God of Mischief from them... his mighty brother, Thor. Immediately after doing so, both Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America jump into action to chase him down and secure the bad guy. Thor's entrance winds up being a battle between him and the other two heroes that winds up being one of the most memorable moments of the movie. Such a thunderous character like Thor needed, well, a thunderous entrance, and that's exactly what this scene is. As this happens, and their ginormous ship descends over New York City, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is on a bus for a field trip. As Peter obviously would, he gets his best friend, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), to distract his classmates as he jumps out of the school bus window, equips his mask, and swings towards the city. He then enters the battle by saving Iron Man from being crushed by the huge hammer wielded by Cull Obsidian, catching it with ease. Spidey may not have been around for the first Battle of New York, but he was determined to be around for this one. 6 Hulk vs. Thanos: 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018) Image via Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Avengers: Infinity War wastes no time as it opens with Thanos and his Black Order having already destroyed the Asgardian Ship that Thor and co. escaped on at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. However, when it opens, Thor and Loki are pretty much pinned. But, just as it seems he may give up the Space Stone, Loki quotes the famous line, "We have a Hulk," and in comes the not-so-jolly green giant to fight Thanos. This winds up being a moment to power scale Thanos, though. After Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) took down the mythical wolf monster, Fenris, in the third Thor movie, one would think he'd have a decent chance against the Mad Titan—they'd be wrong. Thanos actually rocks Hulk, breaking his nose and taking him down in the most precise beatdown the monstrous hero has ever suffered. They trade some blows, but the best moment comes in the form of the climactic scene in which Armored Avenger hacks the nearby Quinjet's speakers, playing AC/DC's "Shoot to Thrill," and blasting the baddie to hell. If there's one thing that Tony Stark knows how to do, it's make an entrance. Iron Man's entrance in this scene is about as true to his character as it gets. It only makes sense that he makes an entrance that makes it all about him, kicks Loki's butt, and asserts total control over the situation. It's an iconic Iron Man moment and still, to this day, is one of his best in the entire cinematic universe. 4 He's Always Angry...: 'The Avengers' (2012) Image via Marvel Studios In the final battle of The Avengers, as the team is trying to make a game plan, the beloved scientist, Bruce Banner, arrives to help the other Avengers. As a Chitauri Leviathan approaches them, Captain America suggests to Banner that "... now might be a really good time to get angry." This results in Bruce responding with one of the most iconic lines in the MCU: "That's my secret, Cap. I'm always angry," before transforming into the Hulk and punching the Leviathan right in its face, halting its oncoming assault. This isn't just one of the best character entrances in the MCU, but simply one of the best, most legendary moments in superhero cinema as a whole. This kicked off one of the coolest final battles in the MCU, and brought the Avengers together in that iconic 360 shot that everyone knows and loves. This isn't just an entrance for the Hulk, but the team as a unit. 3 The Catch Heard Around the World: 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018) Image via Marvel Studios When Wanda Maximoff and Vision (Paul Bettany) are ambushed during their alone time overseas by Proxima Midnight (Carrie Coon) and Corvus Glaive (Michael James Shaw), they hold their own pretty well—but with Vision injured by Corvus' blade, they're at an incredible disadvantage. Just when it seemed like Wanda may have to make her final stand in a train station, a train passes by and, just on the other side... a figure stands. Proxima Midnight throws her spear to impale the newcomer to the battle, but, with ease, he catches it. From that moment, everyone in theaters knew this could only be one guy: Steve Rogers. Audiences around the world clapped and cheered at seeing the Captain again for the first time since Captain America: Civil War, and with Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) also at his side, they give the two Black Order members a run for their money until the aliens are forced to retreat. 2 Thor Enters Wakanda: 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018) Image via Marvel Studios The greatest solo entrance in the MCU, and one of the best in superhero cinema, is, without a doubt, when Thor explosively lands in Wakanda with Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) at his side in Avengers: Infinity War. He arrives just in time, too, because right before this, the forces in Wakanda were about to be overrun by the alien army. This also marks the debut of Thor's new weapon, Stormbreaker. With ease, he takes out what seems like dozens of aliens in one fell swoop with Stormbreaker. He absolutely turns the tide of battle, and does so with a massive amount of power. It does a great job of showing that he is not here to play around and will most definitely gun for Thanos when he eventually arrives, setting the stakes. 1 The Portals Open: 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019) Image via Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures The climax of Avengers: Endgame, when the half of the Marvel universe that got snapped away finally returns in what people call "the portals scene," is one of the greatest scenes in superhero movie history. The score by Alan Silvestri is iconic, and seeing almost every single Marvel hero make an entrance on the battlefield is legendary. Not to forget, the scene begins with a callback to a notable quote from Sam Wilson. As the first portal begins to open, Cap and the audience hear through his comms: "On your left," as Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) exits the portal. This is the definitive entrance to the entire Marvel universe, which makes it the best of the best.
