10 alleged 9/11 photos, fact-checked

Snopes has investigated a plethora of 9/11 rumors and conspiracy theories throughout the 25 years since the attacks, some of which focus on alleged photographs taken on the day. For example, just one week following the attacks, we looked into a claim that alleged the face of the devil appeared in the smoke emanating from the World Trade Center. A fake photo debunked by Snopes in November 2001 allegedly depicted a tourist atop one of the twin towers just before a plane struck it.
